My new website is now up! With new images and a new design.

Goto the lightroom journal to get all the info:

So the problem:
At some point Windows Vista 64bit changed the default program for my lrcat files to Adobe Professional. I think it was around the time I installed Lightroom 3 Beta.
The result, I was unable to double click on any Lightroom Catalog file and have Lightroom open. It would try to open the file in Adobe Professional software instead, BOOOOOO!
In the past to fix the problem you could right click the file goto >open with>choose default program.... But Lightroom wasn't an option, and when I tried browsing to the lightroom.exe and clicking on that, it still wouldn't open the file in Lightroom.
The fix (finally) - try this at your own risk, attempting to modify the registry can make the operating system unstable.
open the Program "regedit.exe"
goto:
computer\Hkey_classes_root\AdobeLightroom.lrcat\shell\open\command
In there you will need to add or change the "default" string to the location of the Lightroom version you are using, 2.5 in my case.
for example> "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.5\lightroom.exe"
Log out, log back in. problem solved....

This last weekend....
I had the opportunity to assist for George Jardine at his Lightroom Conference in Denver. I was so grateful for the opportunity to be there in the capacity to help teach. I would recommend his workshops to anyone interested in Lightroom!
But as always there is always something to learn!
Lightroom tip:
The original filename won't be saved in the metadata if you change the filename on import, but if you wait and change after import, the original Filename will be in the metadata.
